Reid’s current deal at Upton Park expires next summer and with interest in the centre-back so strong the Hammers are desperate to hold onto one of their key assets.
The New Zealand international has played a big part in the strong start to the season for Sam Allardyce’s men and the West Ham hierarchy are ready to show just how much they appreciate those efforts with a colossal new wage offer.
A six-year contract with weekly earnings of £75,000 has been tabled for Reid, which the East London club hopes the defender will sign before the January transfer window.
That is because the Irons know that if not Premier League giants such as the Gunners, Reds and Spurs will try and tempt Reid away and the club could be forced to sell at a cut-price if the 26-year-old makes it clear he wants to leave.
Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his defence with only six first team stars currently available at the back, whilst the Merseysiders are still yet to address their problems and Tottenham are also on the lookout.
