According to La Tercera, as reported by Football Italia, the midfielder has already agreed terms with the Spanish giants and so now it will be a case of the two clubs agreeing on a fee in the coming weeks.
Vidal has been a constant source of transfer gossip this summer, with reports last week suggesting that a deal with Arsenal was in place.
However, given that he is currently on international duty at the Copa America, it is unlikely that he will be making any decisions on his club future at this time.
As a result, it remains to be seen how much truth is in this latest report, with claims that he will sign a five-year deal to join Rafa Benitez in the Spanish capital with huge wages.
It is even suggested that Los Blancos officials will fly out to Chile to tie up the deal, which will ultimately leave the likes of the Gunners and United disappointed to miss out on one of their top targets.
