The duo are both keen on Southampton’s Schneiderlin.
Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has had scouts from both Arsenal and Manchester United sent to watch him ahead of a summer move, according to the Mirror.
The Frenchman has been impressing in the Premier League for the past two seasons since the Saints earned promotion back to the top flight in 2012.
Schneiderlin has risen through the divisions with the south coast club after joining from Racing Strasbourg back in 2008 when the team were still in League One.
Under the guidance of Nigel Adkins the club earned successive promotions and to date the 24-year-old has made 224 appearances in all competitions.
The form of Mauricio Pochettino’s side has attracted plenty of interest from top sides as the team look to finish in the top 10 for the second year running.
Along with Schneiderlin, teammates Luke Shaw and captain Adam Lallana have also been strongly linked with moves away and Pochettino faces a tough task to keep his best players at St Mary’s.
United are looking to oversee a complete overhaul of their squad this summer after a disappointing first campaign in charge for David Moyes.
The Scot was sacked as manager on Tuesday after guiding the Red Devils to their lowest ever Premier League points tally and an absence from the Champions League for the first time since 1995.
As for the Gunners, they will be somewhat disappointed with their own season as they have led the division for more time than any other club and yet look certain to finish fourth.
