Di Maria wants a switch to Ligue 1 after being sidelined by Madrid.
Real Madrid ace Angel Di Maria is a transfer target for Arsenal and Manchester United, but the Argentine is going to bypass the duo in favour of AS Monaco, according to talkSPORT.
The 25-year-old was strongly linked with a switch to Old Trafford in the summer, but decided to stay and fight for a place at the Santiago Bernabeu despite the arrival of Gareth Bale and Isco.
Di Maria has played a full 90 minutes just seven times for Los Blancos this term, scoring four goals and providing eight assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.
However, with the South American not getting the first team opportunities that the attacking midfielder wants in the Spanish capital, both the Gunners and United have seen their chance.
Yet the Premier League pair are set to be snubbed by the Argentina international, who is leaning more towards a transfer to super-rich Monaco.
Di Maria is represented by Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, who has already negotiated the deals that saw Ricardo Carvalho, Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez join the Principality club in the summer.
Monaco have started well since their return to Ligue 1 after promotion and with the funds of Russian billionaire owner Dymitry Rybolovlev being utilisied, they are third behind current champions Paris Saint-Germain and Lille.
Di Maria has been with Madrid since the summer of 2010, after making the £20.3m move to Los Merengues from Benfica.
