Spain international could move to Emirates Stadium or White Hart Lane in January.
Arsenal and Tottenham are the among the Premier League clubs watching Barcelona’s disgruntled striker David Villa, reports Spanish daily AS.
World Cup winner Villa was considered one the finest strikers in world football when he joined Barca from Valencia in 2010 but, after a stunning first season in Catalonia, a serious injury last term sidelined the forward for 8 months and he has struggled to re-establish himself in the La Liga giants’ first team.
The 31-year-old has been mainly restricted to sub appearances this season, with Lionel Messi leading the line, but has still managed 8 goals, including five in La Liga.
Villa is understood to be keen to leave the Nou Camp in order to play regular first team football and a number of Premier League clubs, including the North London, duo are monitoring the situation.
Both Arsenal and Spurs are in need of fresh attacking options in January, with Gunners’ summer signing Olivier Giroud still unconvincing and Spurs’ relying heavily on Jermain Defoe for goals.
Barca boss Tito Vilanova is willing to allow Villa to leave for the right price but Chelsea are also tracking the Spain international.
Arsenal have also been linked with Dutch striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar but, after three seasons of tika-taka at the Nou Camp, Spain international Villa is more likely to suit Arsene Wenger’s style of play.
