Chris Samba’s future at Blackburn has been plunged into doubt with news that Leicester’s Sol Bamba is being lined up as his replacement.
Intense transfer speculation has surrounded the Congo international for much of the summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly vying for his signature.
It now appears that Rovers are appeared to cash-in on their captain as they line up a £3million move for Leicester defender Sol Bamba
According to The Sun, Rovers boss Steve Kean had the defender, 26, watched in City’s 1-0 weekend win at Coventry and the friendly against Real Madrid.
Kean is planning a bid for the Ivory Coast ace, but the Foxes, managed by Bamba’s ex-national team boss Sven Goran Eriksson, also aim to offer the player a bumper new deal.
The Ewood Park outfit will now listen to offers for Samba, 27, who is expected to command a transfer fee in the region of £11m.
Tottenham are thus far in pole position to sign the towering defender, having been in transfer discussions with the Lancashire club only last week.
But Arsenal could step up their interest having grown frustrated in their attempts to sign Everton’s Phil Jagielka and Bolton’s Gary Cahill, who are both valued at £20m by their respective clubs.
