Barcelona striker David Villa ready to consider options this summer.
Arsenal and Tottenham target David Villa says he is happy at Barcelona but has admitted he will consider his options this summer.
The Spain international has been widely linked with a move to the Premier League, with the north London duo said to be leading the chase for the 31-year-old.
Villa struggled for game time under Barca boss Tito Vilanova this season and the summer arrival of Neymar at the Nou Camp looks set to further limit his chances next term.
Goal.com reports that Spurs lead the chase for Villa having lodged a £10m bid for Spain’s all-time leading goalscorer but the former Valencia forward says he is happy in Catalonia.
“I have a contract and I have always said that I’m very happy in Barcelona,” he said.
“Throughout my career I have always been respectful of my current club. Right now I’m just thinking about doing a good job in Brazil [at the Confederations Cup] and then we will see.
“We will have to analyse many things during the summer, but as of right now I’m not thinking of anything else other than playing football for Spain.”
Villa scored 10 goals in just 17 La Liga starts for champions Barcelona this season.
