Gunners host Rovers in the Cup and Bayern in Europe this week.
Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny says that the North London club are absolutely “desperate” to win a trophy this season and finally bring to an end their eight-year wait for silverware.
Check in to Arsenal vs Blackburn Rovers
The Gunners entertain Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round at the Emirates stadium on Saturday afternoon, with the Poland international hopeful that his side can go all the way in this competition.
It was the FA Cup that was actually the last trophy that Arsene Wenger’s side won back in 2005 after beating Blackburn in the semi-finals and then Manchester United in the final at the Millennium stadium.
“As you know, we’re desperate for a trophy,” Szczesny told the Daily Mail.
“We hope we can give our fans something to cheer in the FA Cup. It’s massive for us. We’re three wins away from a final at Wembley now so we’ll give it everything.
“I really don’t care about goals conceded as long as we win the game – I’d rather win 3-2 than draw 0-0, for example.”
Arsenal also host Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday night.
