Arsenal speedster Theo Walcott has boasted that the Gunners have been the best team in Europe in 2015.
The North London side lost beaten 2-0 at Southampton on New Year’s Day, but they have been beaten just twice in 20 games since then.
Arsenal’s fine form will almost certainly not be enough to see them win the Premier League for the first time since 2014 – they are currently 10 points behind leaders Chelsea with just five games left to play.
However, Arsene Wenger’s men appear to be on course to record their highest Premier League finish in 10 years, while they are the favourites to win the FA Cup, going into next month’s final against Aston Villa.
“In this calendar year, we’ve been the best team in Europe,” The Mirror quotes Walcott as saying. “It’s the strongest the squad has been and everyone is staying fit as well.
“There aren’t many injuries in the squad, which is important. If we had an injury-free season, I think we could lift the title.”
