With Lukasz Fabianski leaving the club this summer in order to obtain more first team football and Emiliano Viviano returning to Palermo after an unsuccessful loan spell, Wojciech Szczesny will be left as the only goalkeeper at the Emirates.
It wasn’t too long ago that there were doubts over the Pole’s capabilities as well and whilst the 24-year-old has since allayed most of those fears, competition between the sticks is needed.
Despite their generally poor showing in the English top tier in 2013/14, Marshall was one of Cardiff’s standout performers and could act as a great competitor to Szczesny.
