Arsenal transfer rumours
The Gunners are long-time admirers of the Portuguese international, who has impressed as one of the top young midfielders in Europe in recent seasons.
Other top clubs have also shown an interest in Carvalho in the past, though it now looks as though Arsenal may be leading the chase for his signature in the next transfer window, according to the Metro.
The 23-year-old would no doubt make a fine signing for Arsene Wenger’s side, with Arsenal in need of improvements in that area after some disappointing form from the likes of Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere in recent times, with the pair also showing themselves to be incredibly injury prone.
Carvalho had previously been valued at around £30m by Sporting, but a £21.5m move looks a potential bargain for Arsenal if they can pull it off.
