Podolski, who has made no secret of the fact he’s been frustrated with life in north London, came off the bench to hand the Gunners a 2-1 win over Belgian side Anderlecht.
But speaking after the game, the Frenchman denied that he would be looking to move the 29-year-old on in January, claiming that he will be staying “for the coming months”.
“Lukas is frustrated and I understand that, but he’s never been close to leaving,” Wenger explained.
“He will be important in the coming months – it took him a while to get back to a good physical level after the World Cup, but now he’s nearly there.”
