Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he is looking for quality and not quantity at Arsenal this summer as he bids to help the Gunners challenge for the Premier League title next season.
The wily French manager says he hopes to bring players to Emirates Stadium that will improve the standard of the north London side’s squad – much as he did with Mesut Ozil last summer.
With a reported transfer kitty of £100 million, Wenger has plenty of funds at his disposal.
However, the 64 year-old says the priority is signing a few top stars rather than many mid level players given how close Arsenal came to challenging for the Premier League title before an injury crisis blew them off course.
“At the moment I have people around me who start to look,” said Wenger to Sky Sports.
“It will be busy, but the main thing for us will be to keep the stability because we feel we are close.
“We want to add something that makes us even stronger, but number-wise it will not be massive.”
