Costa Rican ace to get Gunners chance.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that highly-rated young forward Joel Campbell will be a part of his squad for the upcoming season, thus putting an end to the speculation surround his future, the Daily Star reports.
The Costa Rican striker has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club this summer, with reports suggesting that AC Milan are interested in signing the 22-year-old.
However, Wenger has since moved to quash the talk of him making another exit after the Costa Rican spent the previous campaign on loan with Greek giants Olympiakos.
“He’s a member of my squad at the moment, he had a good preparation, he played well against Benfica for example,” he said.
“In training he is very focused and eager to do well and I would like to keep him.”
The Frenchman believes that the time Campbell spent in Greece has helped his game develop significantly, and that he matured during the stay.
“He’s matured a lot,” he added.
“He came from a non-competitive world into a world with high competition.
“He’s adapted slowly but he’s adapted very well.
“He has a very good spirit and a very good attitude.”
