Arsenal have 7 out of 12 points on the table and a brutal Champions League group stage. They need a striker.
With “own goal” leading the team in scoring, Arsene Wenger has big plans for the final 48 hours of the transfer window.
According to the Metro, the Arsenal boss fully intends to sign an extra striker before the summer transfer window closes in less than 48 hours. To date, Olivier Giroud is the only Arsenal player with a goal (1) while the only two other goals the Gunners have scored this season have come off own goals.
“We are open and we are in the transfer market,” Wenger said. “If we find any exceptional player in any sector, we will do it. At the moment, I don’t know if something will happen or not.
“We’re working on it; I’m not any more or less optimistic than I was last week. You always want more goal-scorers, but it’s unpredictable.”
Arsenal were blocked from landing Real Madrid scoring machine Karim Benzema by the star himself just last week. The key target that Arsenal have reportedly been pursuing has been Paris Saint-Germain leading scorer Edinson Cavani
