Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hit back at rival Jose Mourinho for the Chelsea coach’s jibe at him over spending.
Mourinho recently claimed that his rivals were all looking to buy their way to a title, much like what he was criticised for during his first spell in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Further, he was adamant that if the totals of how much each club had spent were added up and compared, the media would be surprised.
However, Wenger wasn’t interested in getting into a verbal sparring match with his rival ahead of their meeting on Sunday for the Community Shield.
“One day you will look at the players we have developed here compared to the spending and other clubs and you will be surprised,” he said at a press conference, as reported by the Mirror.
“I get different reproaches – that I don’t spend enough then I spend too much.
“I let other people talk.”
The Frenchman’s only notable acquisition so far this summer was the signing of Petr Cech from the Premier League champions, although he has been linked with a big-money move for Karim Benzema before the transfer window closes.
