The leader of one of just three undefeated BPL teams, Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is already garnering attention.
It turns out Arsenal weren’t completely opposed to bringing anyone to Emirates Stadium in the final hours of the transfer window. Apparently the club is targeting one of the Premier League’s rising stars.
According to the Metro, Arsene Wenger insisted that Arsenal sign Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez before the summer transfer window closed. Arsenal ultimately failed to sign a single player worth more than Petr Cech throughout the transfer window.
Riyad Mahrez is currently tied for the Premier League goal-scoring lead with Swansea City’s Gomis and Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson.
In the first match of the season Mahrez recorded a brace against Sunderland. His four goal total to date already matches his season highs from the past four years.
Leicester City are undefeated with 2 wins and 2 draws for eight points through the first four weeks of the season.
The Metro reported that Barcelona are also interested in the Leicester City ace.
