Arsenal experienced a nightmarish season opener against West Ham United as they lost 2-0.
Goalkeeper Petr Cech did not impress in his Gunners debut, but manager Arsene Wenger would not single him out for his performance.
“I haven’t spoken to him yet. I can’t see many individual convincing performances today so it’s difficult to single someone out,” Wenger said to ESPN FC when asked about Cech.
It’s hard to argue with Wenger’s comments, as the Gunners were completely shut out and failed to sustain an attacking threat, with forward Alexis Sanchez on the bench for most of the match.
Cech made two errors, which both resulted in goals.

Wenger also pointed out that the Gunners defense put together a “slack performance” though.
The Gunners will look to bounce back in their next match against Crystal Palace, as they are hoping to avoid another slow start.
