The Frenchman gave his own thoughts on the scandal.
Ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup fifth round tie with Liverpool striker Olivier Giroud revealed he had indeed had an affair with glamour model Celia Kay.
British tabloid newspaper the Sun on Sunday had published pictures of the Gunners star semi-naked in a hotel room with Kay.
Giroud then decided to send a public apology – most notably to his wife – by using Twitter as a platform.
I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, team-mates and Arsenal fans.

I now have to fight for my family and for my club and obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters at the moment.

The 27-year-old was left out of the starting XI for the 2-1 victory over the Reds at the Emirates Stadium and whether that was because of the revelations or because the north Londoners face Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, is unknown.
Wenger had his own response for why Giroud was left out of the game however.
Wenger on Giroud: ‘He looked a bit tired recently … [laughter in room] … I know where you [press] want to lead me, slowly but surely!’
