Arsene Wenger has hinted that Olivier Giroud will return to the starting line-up for Saturday’s Premier League match with Sunderland.
The French striker was a shock omission from Arsenal’s 2-0 Champions League last-16 first leg defeat against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, after publicly apologising on twitter for having an affair with glamour model Celia Kay.

Yaya Sanogo, 21, has started the Gunners’ last two matches up front and impressed, but Wenger said Giroud was part of the ‘refreshment plan’ for the crucial clash with Gus Poyet’s Sunderland in North London.
The boss also backed his leading goal-scoring to ‘forget’ his off-field problems.
