Bundesliga outfit ready to test Arsenal’s resolve to keep England midfielder.
Bayern Munich boss-in-waiting Pep Guardiola is ready to make a bid for Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere this summer, reports the Metro.
Guardiola is set to officially take the reigns at the Allianz Arena on 1 July and wants the 21-year-old England international to help fire the Champions League finalists and Bundesliga champions to more glory over the next decade.
Wilshere recently signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium but Guardiola is set to be handed a significant transfer kitty to build his own squad this summer and is ready to test Arsene Wenger’s resolve to keep his star player.
Despite his interest in the pass-master, Guardiola is thought to be aware that the Gunners are unlikely to sell Wilshere this summer, despite allowing the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri, Alex Song and Gael Clichy to depart in recent seasons.
Bayern are reportedly hopeful that Wilshere will become increasingly frustrated at Arsenal’s continued trophy drought and seek an exit in the near future, however.
After returning from a lengthy lay-off in October, Wilshere has been a key player for the north London outfit this season, scoring once in 26 appearances.
