The 21-year-old is rated as one of the best young players in the world and has long been linked with a return to the Premier League after initially failing to make the grade at United earlier in his career.
Pogba had been a top target for big-spending Manchester City, but the Premier League champions are now closing in on a deal for Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne instead.
The former Chelsea ace’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium now looks to have helped City’s rivals in their efforts to land Pogba.
