Blow for Premier League giants in pursuit of Madrid midfielder.
Arsenal and Chelsea have been dealt a major transfer blow with the news that Real Madrid are unwilling to sell Sami Khedira this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The Spanish giants are determined to keep both Khedira and Angel Di Maria, who has been linked strongly with Manchester United, despite lengthy transfer speculation surrounding the pair’s futures for much of this summer.
Khedira’s contract is up next summer, which would allow the German international to move for free in a year’s time, but for now Arsenal and Chelsea don’t look to have much of a chance of signing the World Cup winner.
“They are Real Madrid players,” the Italian said, when asked about their situations.
“They didn’t play in the Super Cup because they joined the group on August 5th.
“The transfer market is over and we won’t re-open it.”
