Arsenal could be boosted in their pursuit of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, with Carlo Ancelotti confirming that the German international has rejected the offer of a new contract, according to Marca.
The Gunners have been in competition with Chelsea for the signing of the 27-year-old for much of this summer, and it now looks more and more likely that the Spanish giants will try to offload him before the transfer window closes.
Khedira is currently entering the final year of his contract at the Bernabeu, and though he hasn’t asked to leave, he has put his future into serious doubt by turning down a new deal with the club.
“He has a contract (for another) year and has rejected the renewal,” the Italian said. “It’s a situation different from (Angel) Di Maria because he has not asked to leave.”
