Gazidis says that the Gunners’ spending isn’t over just yet.
Upon securing the £31.8m signing of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona on Thursday, Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has pledged even more spending from the club.
“We’ve pulled off a good one with Alexis Sanchez, but there’s more work to be done,” Gazidis was quoted by Goal.
This will be music to the ears of Gunners fans who have become used to a frugal approach in the transfer market and this summer could well be one of excitement at the Emirates Stadium.
Here is the North Londoners’ wishlist of new arrivals.
Sami Khedira, Real Madrid – £20m
Manager Arsene Wenger has already made it clear that he wants a holding midfielder to come in and support the more creative players such as Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere.
With Khedira refusing to sign a new deal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu the Germany international could be the ideal option – especially when he is available for a cut price due to the 27-year-old’s current contract expiring in 12 months time.
