Spurs are in the market for improvements in midfield this January and now look to be stepping up their interest in Delph, suggesting their pursuit of Schneiderlin may be over.
The Frenchman, valued at £25m, may prove too expensive for the north London outfit, who are managed by his old boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Delph’s contract at Villa Park is coming to an end in the summer, meaning he could move on the cheap this winter and prove a more realistic option for Tottenham.
