Arsenal target Joao Moutinho has been told he can leave AS Monaco this summer, according to reports.
Moutinho has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the past few days, with both the Gunners and Chelsea understood to be keen on signing the 28-year-old.
According to Metro, Arsenal are in pole position to land the player’s signature after the Monaco bosses told the Portuguese star he could leave the club should the Ligue 1 side receive an acceptable offer.
Monaco are understood to be keen to cut down on its mega wage bill and could cut £110k-a-week from its books should the club agree to sell Moutinho.
Arsenal still face a fight for the midfielder’s signature, with the report suggesting Zenit St Petersburg and FC Porto are interested in the player.
However, Metro claims Moutinho is extremely keen on a move to the Premier League, making Arsenal the favourites to land the signature of the former Porto man.
