The path has been cleared for Arsenal to complete a deal for Real Madrid attacker Karim Benzema, according to reports.

Benzema has been heavily linked with a Premier League move over recent months, and AS [via Metro] reports Real Madrid are keen to offload the Frenchman to make way for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
While Real Madrid are keen to complete a deal for Aguero, it seems the player himself is content with life at Manchester City.
The 27-year-old Argentina international says he is eyeing a Champions League triumph with City and appears not to be interested in a move back to Spain.
“I can’t stop rumours. I can’t stop people writing things,” he said. “But what I can do is repeat what I have already said, and that is that I’m very happy at Manchester City,” Aguero is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
“I have had success over the last four seasons there and I’m hungry for a lot more.
“Of course the Premier League is a big priority and we want to win it back, but it is a big dream to win the Champions League at City as well.”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking to bolster his attacking options in the summer, but his chances of landing Benzema rely heavily on Aguero’s future.
If Aguero does choose to remain at City, the Gunners’ hopes of landing Benzema are slim at best.
