Kondogbia has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates, and Gianluca di Marzio reports Arsene Wenger has begiun negotiations with the 22-year-old after Serie A giants Inter Milan pulled out of the running in the chase for the Frenchman.
Wenger is looking to bolster his midfield ahead of the new season and Kondogbia could be the man to help add steel the Gunners midfield.
Despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin, it seems Arsenal will make the move for the former Sevilla man who put on a midfield masterclass as Monaco knocked the Gunners out of the Champions League during their round of 16 tie last season.
Kondogbia is considered to be more of a box-to-box type midfielder and Coquelin could yet again find himself back on the bench despite his superb performances last term.
