Arsenal close to sealing double deal for right-back and striker.Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is increasingly confident of securing a double deal to sign both Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy for a combined £35m, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Gunners boss has been keen to address his side’s issues at right-back and upfront, and will hope to solve both of these problems with the addition of two of his major targets in this summer’s transfer window.
Sanchez, 25, could be allowed to leave Barcelona for a bargain fee of just £25m, and Arsenal currently look the favourites to beat the likes of Liverpool to his signature.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United are seemingly ready to accept an offer of £10m for French defender Debuchy, in a move that would see him replace his fellow countryman Bacary Sagna as first-choice right-back for Arsenal.
Sagna, whose last appearance for Arsenal came in their FA Cup final win over Hull City, opted to sign for Manchester City on a free transfer, but Debuchy looks a good replacement and has largely kept the former Gunner out of the France side at the 2014 World Cup.
