Arsenal are on the verge of sealing a £7m move for Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier as the replacement for the Manchester City bound Bacary Sagna, reports the Daily Express.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been scouting the 21-year old for quite some time now and believes that he is the right replacement for 31-year old Sagna, who has decided not to renew his contract with the Gunners.
Sagna is disappointed with the new contract offer from Arsenal and is seeking pastures new with a number of clubs interested in his signature. The French international though is expected to favour a move to Premier League Champions Manchester City, with whom he will hold talks soon.
Aurier meanwhile, is widely believed to be a right-back that would suit Arsenal’s attacking philosophy as he is known for his goalscoring and assisting abilities. The Ivory Coast international has scored 6 and assisted an equal number of goals for his French club this season, and was also named in Ligue-1’s team of the season.
