BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey has hinted that Arsenal are on the verge of signing Real Madrid star striker Karim Benzema.
The clean-cut and affable reporter claimed via Twitter this week that a reliable source told him the Gunners are close to signing a player who would put them in a strong position to end their long wait for the Premier League.

It has not been confirmed that Humphrey is talking about Benzema, but his comments strongly imply that the Gunners are close to landing the Real Madrid star.
The Gunners have not aggressively pursued other players like they have Benzema, for whom they are reportedly prepared to pay £45m, plus £150,000 per week in wages.

The Gunners are sure to work even harder at pursuing Benzema now, as they will look to avoid another slow start.
