Gunners nearing deal for Aston Villa teen starlet.
Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Aston Villa wonderkid Danny Crowley, who has been dubbed the new Jack Wilshere, reports the Daily Mail.
The Gunners have beaten off competition from Manchester City to land the 16-year-old, who is an England youth international and recently impressed in action for the Three Lions in the Victory Sheild, an annual home nations international tournament.
Gunners scouts have been tracking Crowley for a number of months and it is understood that boss Arsene Wenger has now given the green light to pursue a deal.
Pass-master Crowley, who can play in central midfielder or in an advance role behind the striker, has been likened to England star Wilshere, 22, because of his stunning technique and composure on the ball.
Aston Villa are reluctant to lose the youngster and will be owed compensation by the north London outfit.
