Arsenal midfield favourite to quit the club this summer
Despite having David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny on the club’s books, Arsene Wenger is believed to be wanting to add another shot-stopper to his ranks.
According to Metro, Arsenal have identified the 23-year-old German as a viable option in the summer.
Leno is reported to have £13m release clause in his contract, to which the Gunners are reportedly ready to pay.
The German youth international has played 131 league games for Leverkusen after being handed a debut at just 19 years of age in 2011.
Leno is regarded as being one of the top goalkeepers in the Bundesliga and only Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer has kept more clean sheets this season.
His future may hinge on whether Arsenal can pry Petr Cech away from Premier League champions Chelsea, with Wenger reportedly keen to sign the Czech international.
