Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes he can still get strike a deal with Villarreal despite a series of proposed bureaucratic issues regarding his work permit holding him back, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Brazilian-born defender has seen his £6m switch to the Emirates held up as he has not yet featured for his national team, and will therefore not qualify for a work permit.
However, so determined is Wenger to get his man, he is prepared to take the case to an appeal with the FA – who make the decisions on behalf of the Home Office.
The 24-year-old is also thought to be keen on a move to north London, but because he does not have a European passport and has yet to represent his country he will have to prove that he qualifies as an ‘exceptional talent’.
