Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
Arsenal are in desperate need of a world class striker this summer, with Olivier Giroud forced to play almost every game in the absence of other options.
The Frenchman did a fine job, but support from his compatriot Karim Benzema, who is in the last year of his Real Madrid contract, would be most welcome.
Arsene Wenger has previously dismissed the idea of having both France strikers at Emirates Stadium, due to a perceived inability to play together, but the pair combined well for Didier Deschamps’ side in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Wenger’s comments during the UEFA Champions League final hinted at a move for Benzema.
“[Benzema] could play his last game for Real Madrid today” the Gunners boss is quoted as saying by the Daily Star on French television in his role as a pundit.
He added that he was “sure [Benzema] will play in the Premier League one day.”
