Arsenal are said to be cooling off in their interest of Southampton’s defensive midfield ace Morgan Schneiderlin following the recent emergence of youngster Francis Coquelin, according to the Daily Mirror.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to have been tracking the player for months now, but it seems that a move for the France international may no longer be going ahead as Coquelin’s performances since the turn of the year mean that he will likely look to strengthen other areas of the squad.
Arsenal have recently awarded veteran midfielder, and club captain, Mikel Arteta a new short term deal, though Tomas Rosicky now looks set to move on.
The Gunners are in the market for a new goalkeeper though, with Chelsea custodian Petr Cech reportedly high on the list.
However, just because Arsenal’s interest may be dipping, that’s not necessarily good news for the Saints as Schneiderlin recently expressed his desire to play for a club that can offer Champions League football.
“I no longer want to be in front of my TV every Tuesday and Wednesday,” he said.
“In August, I wanted to progress my career but the club had let too many players go to sell me.
“Since then, I have had talks with the directors and I want to play at a higher level. It is important, at 25-years-old, to finally play in the Champions League.”
