Manchester City face losing versatile midfielder and England international James Milner for as little as £5 million come the January transfer window, report the Daily Star, with the former Aston Villa star stalling on the offer of a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Milner’s unwillingness to follow the likes of captain Vincent Kompany and international teammate Joe Hart in extending his deal at City seems to centre around first team football, with Milner largely seen as a dependable substitute by Manuel Pellegrini.
This could let Premier League rivals, with Milner’s deal due to expire at the end of the season, and Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton are all likely to be interested.
With City unlikely to want to let Milner leave for nothing come the end of the season, they could be forced to accept an offer of as little as £5m once the window reopens.
