Arsenal could be forced into the transfer market before the end of the summer as Arsene Wenger eyes a striker to replace the injured Olivier Giroud, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of strikers this summer, including Queens Park Rangers’ Loic Remy and AC Milan’s Mario Balotelli, the latter of whom looks set to complete a £16m move to Liverpool after the former failed a medical at the club earlier in the transfer window.
It is not yet clear who Arsenal will target to replace Giroud, whose ankle injury could see him set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but Remy is still available and has a buy-out clause of just £8.5m.
Although Arsenal have already signed Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona this summer, the Chilean failed to impress playing upfront as Arsene Wenger’s side drew with Everton at the weekend.
