Arsenal transfer news
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazilian, who has been in fine form for Villarreal ever since he made the move from Brasileiro outfit Vitoria, as Arsene Wenger looks to add some depth to a defence that has really struggled to cope with injuries to senior players this season.
Wenger confirmed his interest in signing the player in the press recently, although he did indicate that there were financial and work permit related obstacles to overcome, and the fact that Gabriel features neither on the Villarreal squad list or the section of players deemed to be injured or suspended will only add fuel to the fire of speculation.
