Despite £20m price tag, centre-half is target for new Bayern boss.
With a reported £270m to spend this Summer, new Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is wasting no time in identifying his transfer targets.
The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal’s central defender Laurent Koscielny is one such target, and the £20m price tag on the Frenchman will not deter Guardiola from making a bid for player.
The 27-year old has been part of a defensive unit that has been questioned all season, but Koscielny has been perhaps the Gunners most consistent defender, despite some rotation with Per Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen throughout the Premier League campaign.
It is clear that the new Munich boss is looking to create a similar side to the team he built in Barcelona, with big ambitions ahead for the Bundesliga champions.
With Daniel Van Buyten’s contract set to expire this summer, the signing of the 27-year old looks to be a move to bring some young blood into the back line, as the German side look to solidify their status as an elite European team.
