The Gunners won’t surrender the fight for Karim Benzema. How high will Arsene Wenger go in his chase for the Real Madrid star?
Despite having their £31.3 million bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema rejected, Arsenal are not giving up their pursuit of the La Liga scoring machine.
According to the Metro, Real Madrid remain uncertain as to what they want to do with Benzema despite rejecting Arsenal’s transfer bid. As a result, the Gunners reportedly plan to continue their pursuit of the 27-year-old Frenchman with club manager Arsene Wenger prepared to “commit major resources” to bring Benzema to Emirates Stadium this summer.
Benzema has enjoyed incredible success since signing with Real Madrid in 2009. After a pedestrian 8-goal season in 2009-10, Benzema exploded onto the La Liga scene with 15 league goals and 26 total goals the following year. In 2011-12, he set career highs with 21 league goals and 32 total goals as Real Madrid won the La Liga title and later the Supercopa de Espana.
