The Gunners will fight Juve for Draxler’s signature..
Arsenal face a fight with Italian giants Juventus for Schalke’s 20-year-old wonderkid attacking midfielder Julien Draxler, reports the Sun
The prodigal young attacker has scored two goals already this season, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s top target in January. Arsenal signed Draxler’s German compatriot Mesut Ozil for £42m earlier this month, and is keen to make another huge signing when the transfer window reopens.
Juventus are also desperate to land Draxler though, and are willing to meet his reported £34m buy-out-clause. The Old Lady sent scouts to watch the wonderkid during his side’s Champions League win over Steaua Bucharest.
Draxler has seven caps for Germany already, and is already an integral part of Schalke’s first-team. Quite rightly, he is regarded as one of the hottest properties in Europe, and according to the player, two European giants, Manchester City and Real Madrid, came in for him last month.
“Ultimately, my gut, my heart and perspective were the decisive factor in my decided to stay at Schalke.”
Whether he will be bale to resist the temptation of Arsenal and Juve come January remains to be seen.
