Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town have completed the signing of teenage Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles on a season-long loan.
The Tractor Boys finished sixth in the second tier of English football season, but the addition of the 17-year-old box-to-box star could be just what Mick McCarthy’s side need to push on and get into the top two this term.

Maitland-Niles, who started out as a winger before moving inside, has already made three substitute appearances for Arsenal’s first team, including a 45-minute cameo in a 4-1 win over Galatasaray in the 2014-15 Champions League.
Arsenal have a 100% record with Maitland-Niles in the team. His other two senior Gunners appearances came during a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United and a 2-0 triumph against Hull City.
Maitland-Niles scored three goals during Arsenal’s run to the semi- finals of last season’s FA Youth Cup.
Despite being just 17, he has already netted twice for the Gunners at Under-21 level.
Ipswich’s deal to sign Maitland-Niles does not include a recall clause.
