Gunners have lost patience with their current No 1.
Arsenal are still to decide as to which goalkeeper they will make a move for at the end of this campaign to replace current under-performing shot stopper Wojciech Szczesny at the Emirates next season, reports the Daily Mail.
The Gunners’ head coach Arsene Wenger has drawn up a short list of two keepers to replace the Poland international between the sticks in north London come the summer: FC Barcelona No 1 Victor Valdes and Liverpool ‘keeper Jose Manuel Reina.
The Catalan goalkeeper recently stunned the Camp Nou by announcing that he would not be renewing his current contract with Barca, which is set to expire in the summer of 2014.
However, the runaway La Liga leaders have made it clear that they therefore wish to sell the 31-year-old at the end of this season for a fee in the region of £8.5 million, as opposed to losing the player for free next year.
It remains to be seen who Barcelona will attempt to sign as a replacement, with not many high class custodians available in the current market.
