The Gunners took a maximum 12 points from 12 in March under Wenger’s stewardship, securing four consecutive wins and now find themselves just one point behind second placed Manchester City with eight games left to the season.
Giroud meanwhile hit the back of the net and impressive five times last month, a goal or more in each of Arsenal’s Premier League encounters.
The Frenchman opened the Gunners goalscoring against Everton, Queens Park Rangers and West Ham before scoring twice against Newcastle at St James’s Park.
The Premier League gong represents a remarkable turnaround in form for Giroud who was the butt of so many jokes following Arsenal’s 3-1 humiliation at the hands of AS Monaco in February, after missing an inexplicable number of chances.
The award has the added spice of stopping Tottenham boy-wonder Harry Kane from becoming the first star to win the Player of the Month award three consecutive months in a row.
Giroud will be hoping to continue his remarkable form in April with Arsenal’s hosting Liverpool at the Emirates this weekend in their first match back from the international break.
