Arsenal pair Lukas Podolski and Mesut Ozil have tweeted their thanks to retiring Germany striker Miroslav Klose, who today revealed he would be quitting international football.
The Lazio star, 36, was part of Joachim Low’s World Cup-winning squad in Brazil this summer, scoring twice in the competition to make him the all-time leading goalscorer in the history of the tournament.
Both Ozil and Podolski returned to training with Arsenal today after being given an extended break following their World Cup triumph earlier this summer, but they took the time to pay tribute to their former colleague.
Thanks Miro for all the great years and moments that we shared. You have your place in list of the legends. Poldi pic.twitter.com/luPREk5u0U
