The 19-year-old is the latest in a long line of top talent to be produced by the famed Argentine youth system, and the Gunners are said to be keen on bringing yet another youngster out to Europe.
And he looks set to follow the likes of Pablo Aimar, Hernan Crespo, Martin Demichelis, Javier Mascherano, Gonzalo Higuain and Erik Lamela, who have all graduated through River’s academy by sparking a scramble for his signature.
Arsenal consider him to be a considerable young talent, and have expressed an interest after catching his international debut against Slovenia in June last year.
Mammana, who features primarily as a centre-back, can also play comfortably on the right side of the defence as well.
However, the Gunners may struggle to snap him up, as Atletico Madrid have also expressed an interest, and he would struggle to pick up a UK work permit as he hails from a non-EU country.
