Grzegorz Krychowiak was a star for Sevilla in his first year with the club, and now he’s looking to cash in again.
Sevilla reached the top of the Europa League mountain this past year thanks in large part to midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak – a feat that hasn’t gone unnoticed at Emirates Stadium.
According to The Telegraph, Arsene Wenger is now weighing up a £22 million transfer bid for Krychowiak after having scouts take a look at 25-year-old Polish international ahead of the UEFA Super Cup match.
Wenger has reportedly been interested Krychowiak for over 18 months. The Arsenal boss apparently sees Krychowiak as another defensive midfielder to rival Francis Coquelin.
The deal for Krychowiak would be the biggest transfer of the season should the Gunners get the deal done. The only other big-name signing Arsenal have made this summer was a £10 million deal for former Chelsae goalkeeper Petr Cech – a move that didn’t exactly pay big dividends in Week 1.
Grzegorz Krychowiak was named to the 2014-15 La Liga team of the season after Sevilla finished 5th on the La Liga table and secured a spot in the 2015-16 Champions League group stage.
