Arsenal could make a second raid on Southampton this summer after lining up a £15m bid for young Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama, according to CaughtOffside.
The 23-year-old became one of the most highly rated young players in Europe after first emerging as a top talent at previous club Celtic, where he shone against big clubs such as Barcelona in the Champions League.
The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool were linked with him before he joined Southampton, but he may now be set for a quick exit from the St Mary’s Stadium, joining a host of other big names in leaving the club this summer.
Arsenal have already raided the Saints for young right-back Calum Chambers this summer, and Wanyama is now thought to be one of Arsene Wenger’s top targets in midfield after he has struggled to bring in the likes of Real Madrid star Sami Khedira or Sporting Lisbon youngster William Carvalho.
Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin is another to be linked with the Gunners in this transfer window, but it is thought that he would favour a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
